Ceiling Fasten steel furring channels to joists 600 mm (24") o.c. with double tie wires, except 300 mm (12") o.c. at end joints. See Detail A. Adjoining lengths of channels lapped 750 mm (2'-6").
Apply one layer of 15.9 mm (5/8") GlasRoc® Sheathing Type X with the long dimension perpendicular to the furring channels with 25 mm (1") Type S steel screws spaced 300 mm (12") o.c. Locate screws 12.7 mm (1/2") from edges and ends of board.
